Statement on Spotify and Suno

Given Spotify's industry lowest payout to artists, their CEO's outrageously tone deaf public comments and attitude towards artist, running I.C.E. advertisements, and his investment in AI military tech, I have been actively boycotting that platform for several years now. While some Oscillator releases may still appear there we do not endorse the use of their service. True, many other providers are not much better ethically, but boycotting Spotify is a good start. Some top alternatives are Qobuz and Tidal, and most certainly Bandcamp which is our favorite for independent artists. There are lots of tools out there to help you transition your Spotify playlists over to another service. Make the leap and start divesting from these corporate pirates!

A.I. is developing far too rapidly and at too great a cost to our society (see data centers) and is desperately in need of regulation. It should be used for science and medicine, not the arts. Suno's product is disgusting, and their CEO also made outrageously tone deaf comments recently. Instead of AI, try collaborating, get a piece of software and a keyboard and figure it out. The challenge of creating is an integral part of the process and human experience and these goons are trying to rob us of that.
